Signs of the Amtgard Apocalypse

This was a post I made awhile back on Amtgard-L that somehow found it's way into an issue of Asmund's Talons of the Parrot. He only used about half the items, though... some of them are a bit dated, they dealt with things in (then) recent memory.

Signs of the Amtgard Apocalypse, as predicted some
1500 amtyears ago by Neoleonus, mystic and sage:

10. When event is run without substances of an
alcoholic nature being consumed for the
        entire duration of the event.

9. When the number of kingdoms is equal to the
        number thirteen.

8. When a woman gains that which is known as a
        knighthood of the sword.

7. When the sum of worldly posessions of the Amtgard B.O.D.
is not deemed to be worth less than zero.

6. When he who is known as Diego defeats the
        Jug of Claw.

5. When the colliseum abandones old faithful abode
in favor of a shiny new recepticle.

4. When Sheriden refuses to give in to
        Tick Tock at Z'Ha'Dum.

3. When a great war between forcess of light,
darkness and death has twice that number
of armies, with forces dedicated to guiding,
        lack of order, and footware.

2. When the Blood Horde of the Mad Pain God
resurfaces and siezes control of the Sky.

1. When the Warlike Mollusks are
        defeated on their home surf.

Specifically, #10 referred to a barrage of posts about some event in the Wetlands being moved to a dry site and a horde of complaints about it and about those who complained (they finally gave in and moved it back to a wet site). #8 refers to the fact that Sir Boots had just gotten a Knighthood of the Sword, and posts about that which had been swirling on Amtgard-L. #6 was about a bunch of posts from Diego, actually a very good jugging quick who complained about the Claw team at a recent event #5 referred to that Horus, the server used for Amtgard-L, AmtMux, the Amtgard pages et al was about to be upgraded.... #4 was a reference to an episode of Babylon 5 (#402, I believe) in which Sheriden met Lorien down some pit on Z'ha'dum and Lorien constantly said "Tick-Tock", which is also the name of a MacGregor from the Iron Mountains. #3 refers to the Good/Evil/Dead battle at Clan XIV, in which not only those three armies but also featured the Scouts, Boot's Army, and the Chaos army. #2 is an obscure reference to what was almost the name for Turris Lunae of the Celestial Kingdom. And #1 is about that wacky Jugging Team, The Fighting Cephalopods.
